PHOEBE ROWELL JOHN

Phoebe is a director, dramaturg and facilitator who began making theatre as a part of Chickenshed Young Company. She directed a range of productions while studying History at university and Theatre Directing at Mountview.

 

She develops new work for fringe theatre, including as Associate Director of Black Bat Productions, with whom she has directed five plays. One of her most recent projects, MISS, has been nominated for a Best New Play at the Fringe Awards, Best of the Camden Fringe at the OFFIE Awards, and won an Everything Theatre Award.

 

She was the Resident Assistant Director for London Youth Theatre in 2024 and continues to work with young people at Chickenshed and Go Live Theatre to make their own theatre. 

 

She is also a Script Reader and Literary Assistant for the Finborough Theatre, and has worked as a Casting Assistant for stage and screen.
